How to Press DTF Transfers
Your transfers are here. Let's press. Always follow the instructions included with your order and test one piece first.
Typical settings
- Temperature: around 300 to 320°F (lower for heat-sensitive poly)
- Time: about 10 to 15 seconds
- Pressure: medium to firm
The steps
- Pre-press the shirt for a few seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
- Place the transfer ink side down (film on top). Use heat tape if needed.
- Press with the settings above.
- Peel the film smooth and steady, following the peel type on your instructions (hot or cold).
- Finish press: cover with parchment or a Teflon sheet and press again for a few seconds. This locks it in and softens the feel.
If the film won't peel clean
Stop. Press again for a few more seconds, let it cool if it's a cold peel, and try again slowly. Still lifting? Call us before pressing the rest.
