How to Create Your DTF Gang Sheet in Canva

How to Create Your DTF Gang Sheet in Canva

A DTF gang sheet lets you place multiple logos, names, numbers, sleeve prints, or repeat designs onto one print sheet. This helps you use your print area better and can save money when you need multiple transfers.

This guide shows you how to set up a simple gang sheet in Canva so your file is cleaner and easier to print.

1. Choose your gang sheet size

Before opening Canva, decide what size sheet you are ordering. Common gang sheet sizes may include 22 inch wide sheets in different lengths. Match your Canva design size to the sheet size you plan to buy.

Tip: Use inches, not pixels, when setting up your custom size. This makes it easier to keep your artwork true to size.

2. Start a custom size design in Canva

  1. Open Canva.
  2. Click Create a design.
  3. Choose Custom size.
  4. Enter the width and height of your gang sheet in inches.
  5. Create the new design.

3. Upload your artwork files

Upload the logos or graphics you want printed. PNG files with transparent backgrounds are usually best for DTF printing.

Avoid low-quality screenshots, blurry images, or graphics pulled from social media. Those can print fuzzy or pixelated.

4. Size every design correctly

Place each design on the sheet and size it for how it will be pressed on the shirt, hoodie, tote, or garment.

  • Left chest logos are often smaller.
  • Full front prints are usually larger.
  • Sleeve prints and neck labels need their own sizing.
  • Names and numbers should be checked carefully before ordering.

Always measure the garment area before deciding the final size.

5. Leave space between designs

Leave enough room between each design so the transfers can be cut apart cleanly after printing. Do not let designs overlap or touch the edge of the canvas.

Best practice: Keep a small gap around every design for cutting.

6. Check your background

Your gang sheet should not have a colored background unless you actually want that background printed. For most DTF orders, your artwork should have a transparent background.

7. Download the file correctly

When your layout is finished, download the file from Canva. Use a high-quality PNG with transparent background when available. If you are using Canva Pro, select transparent background before downloading.

If transparent background is not available on your Canva account, make sure the file does not include a white box behind the artwork unless that is intended.

8. Review before uploading

Before sending your file to print, zoom in and check:

  • Spelling
  • Design sizes
  • Artwork quality
  • Background transparency
  • Spacing between graphics
  • That nothing is cut off at the edge

Ready to print?

Once your sheet is finished, upload it through our Upload Your Gang Sheet product. If you do not want to build the layout yourself, use our Artwork Service and we can help create the gang sheet for you.
